# How To Mute a Chat

## Learn how to mute a group or direct message

1. While in the chat, **click** on the name of the user or group at the top of the screen.

2. Select **Mute**.

3. You will now see the megaphone icon with a line through it next to the chat.

4. To unmute, follow the same steps and select **Unmute**.

5.
