How to use ORION Meet

Learn how to use ORION's video call feature

  1. While in your chat, click on the telephone icon at the top right of the chat. This will begin the call.  There can be up to 500 participants in a group call.
    1. Please note that only group owners and admins can initiate a call. This does not apply for peer to peer chats where either party can start a call.

  2. Once the call has started, others will be able to see that there is a call in progress.
  3. As a chat member, enter the chat and click on "Join Call" on the top right of the screen.

  4. Start chatting with other members on the call by clicking the chat bubble on the toolbar.
  5. You can also create a poll inside of the chat for other members to participate in.
  6. To end or leave the call, click the red telephone icon on the toolbar.
  7. To add End-to-End encryption to a group call, click the 3 dots to get to "More Action".

  8. Then select "Security Options" and you will be able to turn on End-to-End Encryption.
    1. Please note that End-to-End Encryption on iOS phones does not work since they don't know how to decrypt.

  9. How do I flip my camera to not be in selfie mode?
    1. Click the 3 dots on the toolbar.
    2. Select "Toggle Camera"
  10. How do I change the audio settings?
    1. Click the 3 dots on the toolbar.
    2. Scroll down to Settings.
    3. Select Audio.
    4. From here, you can choose which microphone you would like to use. For example, if you wanted to connect to your car while taking a call.
