FAQs and Troubleshooting

Here are some frequently asked questions, tips & tricks for ORION Messenger. Direct message @orionsupport with any questions.

  1. Can I change my username?
    1. During the beta we haven't introduced this feature yet. It will be available in the future. 
  2. How do I reset my password?
    1. You can change your password by going into your settings under security. See our help article for this here.  
  3. What happens if I forget my login info?
    1. If you forget your password, you will need your recovery key to retrieve it. Our help page for that is here. Please keep in mind, a lost recovery key means a lost account. You can create a new account if you are unable to recover your original one. 
  4. Can I change the email associated with my account?
    1. Not at this time. Once we introduce the reset login feature, you will be able to do this. We don't send out emails so you aren't missing out on anything by not changing your email.
  5. Can I delete my account?
    1. Yes! We will be sad to see you go, but you can learn how to delete your account here
  6. Is there a time limit on how long I can I can edit the message?
    1. Yes, the time limit is 15 minutes to edit a message.
  7. When will The Architect be on ORION?
    1. At this time The Architect + is hosted on Gaia. Click on the symbol that looks like an A inside of ORION, and it will take you to the subscription page. You can also still use the free version on ChatGPT
  8. What if i'm having issues with The Architect on ChatGPT? 
    1. We are unable to troubleshoot since it is ChatGPT and not ORION Messenger. We recommend joining some of the groups on ORION that have been created specifically for chatting about The Architect. You will be able to discuss your experiences and see what others are saying. 
    2. At times, the architect is heavily inundated and will throttle usage, which is why you will get usage limitation notices. This is not something we can control since it does it automatically.
  9. Can I change my Group Chat name?
    1. Yes! Click on your chat name and you will see the option to edit. View details on creating and editing your group chat here.  
  10. How many characters can my group chat name be?
    1. A group chat name can be 3-40 characters long.
  11. How to find links and photos posted in a chat without scrolling all the way back?
    1. Click on the chat name while inside the chat.
    2. You'll see options for: Members, Media, Files, and Links. Choose what you are looking for and start scrolling.


  12. Is there a character limit on messages? 
    1. The limit is 4,000 bytes per message. Things like emojis take up more bytes than letters.
  13. Is there a size limit for uploading videos?
    1. Yes, the current limit is 100MB.
  14. Is there a version of ORION in Spanish?
    1. Yes! We currently support English and Spanish. This can be changed in your settings.  
  15. My app seems to not be working correctly - could it be a bug?
    1. A few troubleshooting tricks:
      1. Use the reload tool to refresh your app - located in the menu which can be found by clicking your profile picture at the bottom of the app.
      2. Log out and back in. Make sure you know your login info before doing this so you don't get locked out. 
      3. Uninstall the app, clear your browsing history, and reinstall the app.
      4. Do a hard refresh on your desktop 'shift+cmd+r' (Mac) or 'shift+alt+r' (PC).
      5. Clear your browsing data/cache.
      6. Clear the site data in the privacy settings of your browser.
      7. Check what operating system your device is on, it may need to be updated. ORION is optimized for the most recent software versions. 
      8. We recommend using Chrome & Safari for the best user experience. Give a different browser a try if you're able to and not already using one of these. 
      9. If you're still having trouble, send orionsupport a direct message with details and screenshots of your issue.
  16. Can I login on multiple devices?
    1. Yes! You can login on your mobile and desktop devices at the same time. Click here to be directed to the login page.
